Last week, we visited some of the Talk English Courses that are taking place in Bradford.

First up, we popped in to say hello at the Safety First course at Dixons Marchbank Primary School.   Parents with children at the school were learning about different types of homes with the help of Don and Karina, a volunteer ESOL teacher.  Everyone was really keen to try out the new language they had been learning and there was a really supportive atmosphere amongst the learners.

At the break, we talked about the solar eclipse that happened on Friday.  After some drawings and demonstrations of what was going to happen, the learners were really keen to find out more!

Next, we visited two courses at the Meridian Centre  taught by Rahena and Nejmah. In Rahena’s class the learners had been following a recipe for Hungarian Tarts, which were fresh out of the oven as we arrived- lucky us!  They were delicious!

Finally we dropped into the Millan Centre, where learners were talking about their recent visit to the National Media Museum in Bradford.  The ladies also enjoyed asking their visitors questions- some authentic English practice!
