Deeplish Community Centre’s 30^th Anniversary

Talk English volunteers were recognised at Deeplish Community Centre’s 30^th Anniversary, where Mayor Sheerin, MP Tony Lloyd, Leader of the Council Alan Brett, and other local councillors presented them with certificates and awards.  Talk English delivered 7 classes at this venue last year, including an introduction to Driving Theory.

Talk English Rochdale Volunteers’ Celebration

Over 40 people attended our Volunteers’ Celebration including course venue staff, activity facilitators, and even the Talk English National Project Manager.  Together we celebrated the achievements of our fantastic Talk English volunteers, many who have attained teaching qualifications or moved onto paid employment.  One completed an amazing 90 hours of volunteering in the classroom last year!

North West Regional Celebration

With the help of 3 amazing volunteers, Talk English Rochdale took over 60 learners to Manchester via tram!!!  For many, this was the first time using the Metrolink and for others, the first time visiting Manchester.  Our learners had a fantastic day meeting students and volunteers from other towns, learning about the environment, and enjoying the sunshine with a lovely picnic in the cathedral gardens.
