Last week, more than 40 Talk English learners and volunteers attended the Talk English Celebration at Wardleworth Community Centre in Rochdale.  It was a great opportunity to say a huge WELL DONE to all the learners who have attended Talk English Courses so far, and also a chance to say a great big THANK YOU to the volunteers who have taught and supported them to improve their English.

After a certificate presentation, there were activities for learners and their children to do, including bingo, pictionary, craft activities and story telling.  Learners enjoyed meeting learners from other classes and got to practise speaking English with one another, as well as volunteers and staff on the project.

Finally, everyone enjoyed lunch together, as learners, volunteers and staff had brought along delicious food to share with one another.  Dishes included curries, rice, pakora, kebabs, pasta, noodles, sandwiches, cakes, trifles… all very tasty!

Since the celebration, new courses have started, so more people are improving their English through the Talk English project in Rochdale.
